Parliamentary representatives running for re-election in the April 2023 General Election in Finland were surveyed about their opinions regarding arms trade between Finland and Israel, and the Palestinian human rights situation that is directly impacted by Israel arms industry.
The results show that the support for continuing the Killer Deal is still strong, even though some doubts do exist. Paradoxically, there exists also support for the human rights of Palestinians, and a desire to advance these rights in the new Finnish government, if elected.
How is it possible to support arming the oppressor while simultaneously vouching to advance the human rights of the oppressed?
The survey targeted 194 current and former parliamentary representatives from ten different parties. The survey was answered by 51 current and former representatives from eight parties running for re-election in the 2023 General Election.
